Boundless Objects [ Objectos sem Limites ]
Curated by Monika Bakke
Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, Évora, Oct 2019 - Mar 2020
Featuring André Sier's sculpture works from the series: Universal Automata (2010), Binary Sculptures (2018), Biological Sculptures (2018).

Binary Sculptures (2018) is a series of unique generative 3D printed sculptures created from data in files, programs and operating system processes. Looking at the operating system that executes programs on electronic substrates as living entities, Binary Sculptures Series features unique editions of printed sculptures that mesh binary files, programs and operating system processes and processes at selected data offsets.

Biological Sculptures (2018) features the meshification of raw electrical data captured from plants and other living aggregates. It is a fabricated 3d printed sculpture series which spawns unique three-dimensional object structures from digitized sequential electrical impulses obtained from living organisms. The sculptures voxelize living electrical flows data, which attempt to reveal invisible life stream flows present in every biological organism.

Universal Automata (2010-11). Universal Automata are sculptures printed in plastic from a 3d printer. The sculptures explore the creation of volumetric space through progressions of cellular automata algorithms.

Com obras de: Ana Leonor Madeira Rodrigues, Ana Rewakowicz, André Sier, Erica Seccombe, Izabella Gustowska, Jennifer Robertson, Kathy High, Marek Wasilewski, Marta de Menezes, Nikolaus Gansterer, Piotr Bosacki e Renata Rosado Curadoria: Monika Bakke Lying at the intersection between art, philosophy, geology, ecology, physics and technology, this exhibition aims to bring together contemporary artistic practices that question the way objects emerge in its constant transfiguration.
